The Jenx Innovation Awards have been running since 1994 in recognition of the vast range of creative, inventive and inspirational work we see every day in schools, hospital departments and other settings.
The therapists we come into contact with are an innovative lot and we are consistently amazed by the new ideas we see in action. These might be ways to treat more children with a dwindling budget or to speed up waiting times, or new treatment practices and other innovations that improve the lives of children, families and carers.
Over the years entries have ranged from sessions that help teaching staff identify children with dyspraxia and gain the correct professional interventions, to systems for evaluating the efficacy of a particular treatment or therapy in a target group.
To enter, the innovation should be described in 1,000 words or less with back up materials attached if necessary. The prize is £1,500 to spend on taking the idea further.
Each year we offer one award to paediatric physiotherapists and one to paediatric occupational therapists.
